A Dragonfly for Each Corpse review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 9 December 2023 08:22 (A review of A Dragonfly for Each Corpse)

The great Naschy as a tough cop in a perfectly rhythmic, even exemplary, Spanish giallo. Erika Blanc and Maria Kosty ignite my senses.

Night of the Seagulls review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 07:21 (A review of Night of the Seagulls)

De Ossorio closes in style his dark and macabre tetralogy of the Templars beyond the Tomb thirsting for virgins. And confirms without doubt that he remains forever a Master of the Spanish B Movie.

Girl review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 07:18 (A review of Girl)

Chad Faust revisits Jim Thompson in this unexpected redneck noir film (the new John Dahl?). Greed and harshness of deep America. Where Mickey “broken mouth” Rourke and Bella “sublime bitch” Thorne face off in a memorable face-to-face.

Irezumi review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 07:13 (A review of Irezumi)

Deadly tattoo manipulating the senses of the magnificent and fatal Ayako Wakao, sumptuously brought to life by the trained eye of a great director.

Slave Girls review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 12:08 (A review of Slave Girls)

A very classic Hammer B Movie, almost "Cormanian", which looks like a real guilty pleasure. The bewitching and lascivious Martine Beswick is the main jewel.

Invitation to a Murder review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 12:04 (A review of Invitation to a Murder)

Nice surprise in this Agatha Christie-style whodunit with a well-crafted storyline. Sober, engaging, sympathetic, credible and, once again, very well written. And we would like to see the talented Mischa Barton a little more often on screen.

Run Hide Fight review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 12:02 (A review of Run Hide Fight)

Finally a real action film tense to the extreme, credible from start to finish and frankly less stupid than the average of the genre (dare I say "intelligent"?...). Almost a “Crystal Trap” teen version with a high school instead of a tower, and where we are pleased to find some well-known faces in secondary roles (Treat Williams, Thomas Jane, Radha Mitchell and Barbara Crampton). And for once a young actress who delivers without making a fuss, I named the young Isabel May. A nice surprise in this film, which echoes a dramatic social phenomenon across the Atlantic.

Amazons review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 11:56 (A review of Amazons)

Do you like heroic fantasy with a Nanardesque twist? The pretty alluring ladies in their (not very) fierce warrior outfits? Then this very Z film is made (perhaps) for you. And (especially) for me...

Kung Fu vs. Vampires! Uninhibited, tasty and refreshing spectacle to consume in moderation! A Hammer Asia story!

The Joy of Torture review

Posted : 4 months, 2 weeks ago on 8 December 2023 11:46 (A review of The Joy of Torture)

Lust and barbarism of a deviant feudal Japan. A one-way ticket to torture hell. Did you say unspeakable? Indeed...
